Welcome to the 2019-20 School Year (August 2019)

Dear Timber Ridge Parents,

It is my pleasure to welcome you and your child(ren) to Timber Ridge Middle School. We are very excited to continue the work that has developed our school as an exemplary middle school and is developmentally responsive to the needs of your child. The partnership between home and school is one of the most important relationships in determining the success of our school. We invite you to be an active part of your student’s middle school experience. Despite the numerous factors that influence your child, you as parents are still the most important influence in student’s lives.               

To orient all students with their schedules and locker, we are having a “Set-Up Your Locker Event” on Monday, August 12, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. All students will pick up their schedule, which includes their locker number and combination. Students may bring supplies to put in their locker.  You are welcome to take your child’s schedule and walk around the building to locate your classrooms.  Staff members will be available to direct students and answer questions.

Please keep in mind that if any registration material has not been turned into the office as of August 5, 2019, this will delay your child in receiving their schedule on August 12, 2019 and/or starting school on August 14, 2019. If this applies to your child, we have contacted you via Connect Ed messages.  This material may include one or more of the following:

• Proof of Residency
• Immunizations/6^th Grade Physicals

NEW - Middle School (Incoming 6th Grade Students): All incoming 6th grade students will not receive their schedule, prior to the first day of school, until their fees are paid in full or be current on their district established payment plan.

NEW - Middle School and High School Clubs and Activities: In order to participate in a non-curricular club or activity, all students must have all fees (including registration fees, book fines, etc. for both current and prior years) paid in full or be current on the district established payment plan. No student will be allowed to participate until the outstanding debt is resolved.

REMINDERS:    

• Bus schedules are available on www.psd202.org after August 8, 2019 after 5:00 pm on the H.A.C. – Home Access Center for your child(ren) – please note that this is for those students who are receiving bus transportation only.
• Please make sure that your child brings their schedule starting on the first half day of school on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 (7:55 am to 12:00 pm)
• The first full day of school is Thursday, August 15, 2019, (7:55 am to 2:55 pm).
• Picture day for our students will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 during the school day
  • Students will receive their ID cards on this day
• Please make sure your child has a Sports Physical completed by the first day of Fall Sports tryouts (Monday, August 19, 2019).
• Curriculum Night will be Thursday, August 29, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Parents will follow their child(ren)’s schedule and meet their teachers at that time.
