Four D. 202 high school journalists net IHSA State Journalism Competition top honors

Four District 202 high school journalists from Plainfield High School – Central Campus and Plainfield East High School took Top 6 honors at the Illinois High School Association state journalism competition in April.

In all, 23 student journalists from Plainfield High School – Central Campus, Plainfield East, Plainfield South, and Plainfield North high schools participated at the state event on April 21, 2023, at Heartland Community College in Normal, Ill.

These four students took Top 6 honors at the state competition:

Plainfield East High School

• Kai (Kaitlyn) Rogers, senior, fourth place in Yearbook Copy Writing
• Alyssa Kotara, senior, and Shyla Munoz, junior, fourth place in Yearbook Theme Development
